We spent the first three weeks of August in Germany, visiting family! It was just such a great time and full of adventures as everyone took us out to different places. We did not have a single day without plans so I’ll be posting about the vacation in multiple parts 😅

Our flight to Germany was an overnight flight, which honestly was perfect for fighting the jetlag! We left in the evening and arrived at like 7am German time ✈️

Officially, I don’t think our flight counted as delayed since we did leave on time. However, we did get stuck in “airplane traffic” for about 40 minutes before we were able to take off 😅 I have no idea how many planes were all trying to leave at the same time, but you can see in the middle picture above that there was a long line behind us too.

The flight itself went really well. Baby bunny was excited about the dinner they served since she was able to get the kids meal with mac and cheese and a bunch of other small snacks 😄 She slept about three hours towards the end of the flight, which wasn’t enough but honestly I was just glad she slept at all 🥱 The rest of the flight she watched movies and shows from their kids entertainment section. So glad they have that so I didn’t have to keep checking what she was trying to watch!

Once we landed at around 7am, we were tired but so excited to be there! The arrival day was basically just driving the two hours to my grandma’s house where we were staying, and then heading to the store to grab our favorite German foods and drinks! My uncle was the one who’d picked us up from the airport and he also took us to the store where he was just watching us fully amused as we spent an hour checking out the small grocery store. We were like tourists in there while also just soo excited to see all the things we’ve been missing. Obviously I had to start with a Radler that first night! 🍺

We managed to make it through the day fairly well to get our sleep schedule for Germany on track. I’ve heard that some parents sometimes try to adjust the kids’ sleep schedule ahead of time, but I did not do that. I just treated it like it was any normal bedtime and hoped for the best 🤣 To be fair, it did actually work! It took her a bit longer to fall asleep, but that’s also just due to it being a new place she wasn’t used to. She slept really well otherwise and woke up barely later than she does at home.

The following day, we went on our first big adventure – Panorama Park! It’s an amusement park perfect for younger kids like baby bunny 😁

They have some rides, but they also have multiple cool playgrounds, trampolines, and different play areas for kids! Plus they have some animals, including a petting zoo area where you can walk in and feed goats. Baby bunny loved it all so much 🥰

There were more animals to see too and a tractor ride that took us through the deer enclosure where the driver let baby bunny feed some deer.

Overall, baby bunny loved it. And despite it raining in the early evening, we actually had really nice weather! And when the rain did hit? That’s when we went to the inside dino play area 🦖 Baby bunny has already asked to go again next time 😂
