The next day, we went to the Monkey and Bird Park (Affen- und Vogelpark) with family which was another adventure baby bunny just absolutely loved! As the name says, they have monkeys and lots of birds to see! But they also have other animals, as well as some beautiful gardens. And it’s definitely geared towards kids as there were also multiple playgrounds outside and a huge play area inside – right by their café so parents can easily grab a coffee or a waffle while the kids play. Yes, that’s what we did 😂

The weather wasn’t great that day, and we did get rained on three times 🥲 But it actually all worked out okay. The first time we got rained on, it was pouring pretty bad actually. We ended up rushing to a grill hut where we had a small picnic and waited for the rain to end. The timing was kind of funny though. The rain started right after we’d seen the first section of the park! So if you look at the pictures, it was right after we’d finished seeing the birds 🐦

The rain didn’t stay long, so after we had our picnic, we headed on to the next section of the park – the monkeys! First we headed into the area with the smaller monkeys. They kept them with some deer, which I thought was cute. We were only allowed to pet the deer and no feeding anything in that enclosure. Next, we went into the big monkey enclosure that held the bigger monkeys. For that one, we had to leave our bags outside and we were warned to be careful of our phones and jewelry as the monkeys might steal them 😱 Those monkeys were allowed to be fed (with special food we could purchase there) but we did not feed them. They had told us at the entrance that it was better to just get goat food for smaller kids like baby bunny. And if you look at the pictures below, you can see that some monkeys have what looks like white papers they are eating. Well those are the paper bags. The monkeys have learned to wait by the entrance and will steal the whole bag from people who bring them in. They then carefully tear the bags open and enjoy their feast. Yes, we watched it happen 🐒

Also again we were not allowed to touch the monkeys, however they were allowed to touch us and sure enough… one jumped up on my mom’s shoulder 😂 She set herself up for that though! Cause that monkey was sitting on someone else’s shoulder first, and the guy couldn’t leave cause you can’t touch the monkeys to get them off you, so my mom had jokingly asked if the guy lived there too now. Then we walked away and not ten seconds later, that same monkey was climbing up onto my mom’s shoulder 🤣🤣
After the monkey adventure, it started raining again. So we headed back up to the entrance. That’s where they have a huge indoor play are for kids as well as a café. This time it rained for a couple hours, but baby bunny had soo much fun playing and we enjoyed coffee and waffles ☕️🧇

After a few hours, the rain had finally slowed to a light drizzle and we thought it would stop. We had only just gotten down the first small path when the rain got heavy again, but we could see the nice blue sky coming in so we just sought shelter under a small roof of one of the bird enclosures. Ten minutes later, we had a nice blue sky again and sun. And it stayed sunny the rest of the day as the checked out the third (and last) part of the park! ☀️ More birds to explore as well as some other animals.

We had a wonderful time exploring all the areas and seeing the animals and gardens. Baby bunny’s favorite moment was definitely when that monkey climbed up on her grandma though 😂 That evening, we went back with our family for dinner. It was another wonderful day!

That game in that last picture? We actually ordered that game for baby bunny while we were still in Germany cause she was obsessed and it was so calming for her. I haven’t seen one like it here in the US but I plan on doing some digging cause I know she will eventually want more pins at the very least 😅
